Visit London launches Waterside campaign

13 July 07

Visit London is set to launch a £500,000 ‘Waterside London’ campaign to promote the capital’s rivers, canals, lakes and lidos.

An advertising campaign will launch on 16 July in London and South East England, using poster sites on London’s South Bank as well as bus sides and rears and Tube panels.

There will be five different creatives including images of The O2, a bridge, a fish, a boat and Battersea Power Station.

800,000 Waterside London guides will also be produced.  These will be distributed with Time Out London magazine and in other London press.  They will also be available in Tourist Information Centres, bars and cafés.

There will be a new Waterside London section on Visit London’s recently re-launched website visitlondon.com from 16 July.

Visit London’s Marketing Director, Martine Ainsworth-Wells, said:

“The campaign will highlight the breadth and diversity of London’s waterside attractions. Even people who know London well will discover new experiences, whether it’s a high speed boat trip, a new waterside restaurant or a day spent foraging for treasure on the banks of the Thames.”
